How to clean your espresso grinder
Tommy WinbergA thorough cleaning of the grinder can make a big difference. Removing the accumulated coffee residue allows the beans to pass through the grinder more smoothly and improves the taste of the coffee. The following steps are quick and easy and only need to be done once a week. We have also compiled a PDF on grinder cleaning if you would like to print out the instructions.
Preparation
- Close the bean chute by pressing in the plate.
- Grind all the coffee that is already in the grinder.
- Remove the bean hopper from the grinder and pour the beans into a bowl.
Cleaning
- Spray Puly Igienic inside the bean hopper and wipe clean with a Macchina cloth. Then polish with a Barista cloth.
- Pour 1-2 sachets of Puly Grind or one Grindz tablet into the grinding mechanism.
- Reattach the bean hopper and refill it with beans.
- Open the bean chute and grind coffee until there are no more white specks in the coffee grounds.
Now the grinder is ready to use again!
